A note from LoSS Runner Dean Ovel ....
Some of you may already be aware as I'm not very good at keeping secrets, but in April I have set myself a little challenge that I hope you will support me with.
I have been fortunate enough to secure places in both Brighton and London Marathons this spring.
Through an idea I had a while back, I am challenging myself to run 10 marathons in 8 days between these two prestigious events. Hence called, the 10 in 8 Challenge. This will be a serious undertaking that I hope will raise awareness and some vital fundraising towards Southend Hospital's Keyhole Cancer Campaign.
This challenge is set to start in a few weeks time where the marathons (and 2 doubles) will either be completed at the above events, en route between them or in the Southend area, including a painfully sounding 105 laps around the track at Garons Park.
I have a webpage that for now gives a brief on what, why and how I'm doing this, but in time will include a lot more details, weekly training blog (& woes) and some interesting ways on how you can be involved too.
Please have a look at www.10in8challenge.co.uk and keep checking back for updates. I also have a JustGiving page which the link below will direct you to if you would like to support by making a donation. I welcome any donations, big or small, but before you do, you may want to wait until I release some more of my plans. Let's just say, it could be a more interactive way to donate. Of course, if you chose not to donate online and would like to pledge an amount, I will have an offline sponsor form with me at most times. www.justgiving.com/10in8challenge
